Location near Kiyomizu-dera

No staff you have to enter into the building by the link provided. Sound proof is really bad, we can hear everything from people walking and talking with phone.

The property is very clean and well kept

I wish there were more items provided like water, toothbrush and toothpaste

Great location, comfortable , and quite.

I liked the privacy in each room and there was enough space. The shared areas always smelled good and were cleaned. Easy to access and to move around. Groceries stores available nearby.

No breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable.

Everything was clean, high quality linens, bed comfortable.. it had a special natural vibe with essential oils defuser, moss wall, but very sophisticated as well. The staff was so sweet, and helpful with everything. Very close walk to all the shopping streets in Higashiyama. Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka etc. if you use Apple Maps, the pin is a little bit off. It’s actually around the corner, so best to use Google maps where the pin is at the correct location, but they could fix this by the time you travel.. I loved everything about this place.

Loved the room! Super spacious and having your own private sink was very helpful! more than a private toilet or shower. Bed was super comfy and AC was nice and cold. The shower was great as well, although there's only 1 on each floor so sometimes you'll have to wait. The shower is right beside another room so because of that, you can't shower between 7am and midnight. Just something to keep in mind. Location is great. It's not super close to the subway but it's a short walk to the pagoda and village, and also a bus stop and Family Mart. It's a nice quiet neighbourhood and you'll see locals and children going to school more than you'll see tourists which I like.

The only downside was that you have to pay to change your towel (200 yen). Not a big deal, but every other hostel in Japan I've stayed gives a new towel daily.

Super quiet location, easy walk to all the attractions in higashiyama, bus stops and restaurants closed by, and above all, friendly and helpful staff

Maybe a couple more hooks in the room and shower room

Room was nice, I appreciated the sink in the room, the staff were lovely, I was in a rush to do the inari mountain walk and They allowed luggage to be left on checkout, Would definitely recommend to family and friends, a decent area with a supermarket couple buildings down for all your needs

Walls are a bit paper thin so could hear everyone coming and going but some earbuds and your sorted, additional shower would have been good only 1 per floor

The place was always clean for both the rooms and the bathroom/shower part.The staff were very kind, everything was explained briefly but clearly for how to handle everything.

I stayed here 7 years ago and I book the exact same place again as it s a great location and very helpful staff, so clean facilities.

perfectly clean with nice and firendly staff.Close to downtown and rail (30ish mins by walk from railstation)In room they live essence oil which is dope. Loved it

Comfortable, clean bed, clean bathroom and toilet. Room size is perfect for solo travellers. Perfect location, few minutes walks from most cultural attractions but not in the middle of the tourist crowd.

The walls are thin. Have to be quiet.

so comfy and artsy. you wouldn’t believe that it’s a hostel. it’s an experience with single rooms to yourself. wow. they have nice smelling dispenser outside. decor is impressive. front desk is lovely. the owner is super helpful. he recommended a few things which turned out to great. they have bike rentals.

For people who are coming to socialize, this is not really the place. this place is for those who seek solitude after some crazy nights in Tokyo and Osaka.

The bed ,the room size , the bathtub

Can hear other people snoring when the night and stomping on the floor . The sign of the lock or unlock bathroom is not that easy to be seen for other people cuz every time when I take a shower I can hear other people want to open my door.

Great place for its value, definitely recommend for single travelers. It’s better to stay on the second floor.

Wifi wasn’t good, always disconnected and disappeared. But my room was at the corner on the second floor, maybe closer rooms didn’t have such issue.

Great location, clean room and the aroma diffused is wonderful and homey.

Perfect for a couple of nights in Kyoto for a solo traveller. Shared bathroom and shower was clean, sink in bedroom was ideal. Receptionist was so lovely and helpful.

Thin walls but I didn’t have any trouble sleeping during my stay. Mattresses and pillows are super hard but got used to it.

great location in a quiet neighborhood. good value for a full room with desk and room to walk around the luggage. in room air conditioning too!

the walls are a little thin. be sure to have ear plugs. stayed two nights it wasn’t too bad.
